SRINAGAR, OCT 7: Bharti Airtel has unveiled a revamped portfolio of postpaid plans that brings one complimentary international roaming trip per SIM every year to eligible customers, marking a significant expansion of the benefits bundled with its postpaid offerings. The new plans will come into effect from October 8, 2026.
The headline benefit is a complimentary five-day international roaming pack carrying 5GB of data, 60 minutes of calls and 25 outgoing SMS, while incoming SMS will remain free. Customers can activate the benefit at the time of their choice, allowing them to align the roaming facility with their overseas travel plans.
Airtel said the benefit will also extend across its family postpaid portfolio, with each SIM/member covered under an eligible family plan receiving a separate annual international roaming trip. The company is positioning the feature as an added convenience for households with multiple members travelling internationally.
The revamped portfolio combines international connectivity with a wider set of digital and entertainment services. Airtel’s postpaid offerings include unlimited data and calling, spam and fraud protection, Fast Lane technology on 5G, and subscriptions to a range of entertainment and cloud platforms depending on the plan selected.
Amit Tripathi, Director–Market Operations, Bharti Airtel, said the company’s postpaid strategy was focused on providing customers with a combination of network experience, digital protection, entertainment and services that add value to everyday connectivity. He said the introduction of complimentary international roaming was another step towards expanding the benefits available to postpaid subscribers.
The ₹499 individual plan offers unlimited data and calling, spam and fraud protection, Xstream Play Premium and Google One, along with one free international roaming trip per SIM annually.
The ₹749 family plan, designed for two members, adds Amazon Prime and JioHotstar to Xstream Play Premium and Google One, while retaining the international roaming benefit for each SIM.
The ₹1,049 family plan, covering three members, includes Apple iCloud+, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium and Google One, besides unlimited connectivity, security features and the annual roaming benefit.
The ₹1,249 family plan covers four members and includes the same broad digital portfolio, while the ₹1,449 four-member plan additionally offers Netflix Basic. At the top end, the ₹1,799 family plan covers five members and includes Netflix Standard along with Apple iCloud+, Apple Music, Amazon Prime, JioHotstar, Xstream Play Premium and Google One.
The plans will be available to new and existing Airtel customers from October 8. Existing Airtel subscribers, whether on prepaid or older postpaid plans, can migrate through the Airtel App or by visiting an Airtel Store. Customers of other telecom operators can also switch to Airtel Postpaid through the same channels.
The latest restructuring represents Airtel’s attempt to broaden the appeal of postpaid services by combining connectivity, international travel, digital entertainment, cloud storage and protection against online fraud within a single subscription ecosystem. For customers who travel abroad, the annual five-day roaming allowance adds a distinct benefit to the company’s upgraded postpaid proposition.
