ANANTNAG, OCT 1: Aishmuqam Police has tightened its noose around narcotics suppliers, arresting a suspected drug peddler and recovering approximately 22 grams of cannabis during naka checking at Logripora Bridge.
A police party from Police Station Aishmuqam, while conducting checking at the bridge, noticed a person moving suspiciously.
The personnel immediately swung into action and tactfully intercepted the individual.
The accused was identified as Fareed Ahmad Khan, son of Ab Rasheed Khan, resident of Nagbal Hapatnad.
During his personal search, police recovered approximately 22 grams of cannabis from his possession, leading to his arrest on the spot.
Following the recovery, a case under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Aishmuqam and investigation has been set into motion to ascertain the source of the contraband and identify any possible links in the narcotics supply chain.
The action is part of Anantnag Police’s intensified anti-drug operations aimed at disrupting the movement and distribution of narcotic substances across the district.
