The operation was carried out around 8 pm on Friday by personnel from Police Station Poonch, along with an FSL team and Naib Tehsildar, at the shop of Davinder Singh, son of Narinder Singh, resident of Mohalla Khorinar, Poonch.
During the search, officials reportedly recovered AK-47 ammunition, ₹105 in Pakistani currency, posters and flags. The operation continued for nearly two hours and concluded around 10 pm.
The recovery of assault-rifle ammunition from a commercial establishment in the heart of Poonch town, along with material bearing Pakistani insignia, has prompted authorities to examine the circumstances surrounding the items and determine their source and purpose.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter and the investigation is underway. Officials said further details would be shared after the ongoing proceedings establish the full circumstances of the recovery.
