KATHUA, SEPT 19: Basohli Police has arrested an absconder, who had been evading arrest since 2012, in connection with an NDPS case.

The accused, identified as Mohd Saleem, son of Abdul Majid, resident of Nathi, Billawar, presently residing at Ghagrore, Basohli, was wanted in FIR Number 11/2012 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act of Police Station Basohli.

A warrant had also been issued against him by the competent court.

Acting on the directions of SSP Kathua Mohita Sharma, a police team from Police Station Basohli, led by the SHO, under the supervision of SP Operations Upper Kathua and SDPO Basohli, apprehended the accused.

Following completion of the required legal formalities, the accused was produced before the Principal District and Sessions Judge, Kathua.

Kathua Police said its drive against absconders and proclaimed offenders will continue to ensure that those evading the law are brought before the courts.
