CHANGTHANG, SEPT 18: District Police Changthang moved to address a key public concern during a Police Community Partnership Group (PCPG) meeting at Tangtsey, where all Nambardars of Durbuk Block and local representatives raised issues concerning residents and pilgrims.
The meeting, aimed at strengthening police-public coordination and ensuring prompt redressal of local grievances, was attended by Ex-Councillors Konchok Stanzin and Tashi Yakzee, along with Thinles Angchuk, Youth President of Lalok Buddhist Association.
During the interaction, police took up various minor grievances and ensured their resolution on the spot, signalling a focus on immediate response to issues brought forward by the community.
The major concern raised during the meeting related to restrictions reportedly being imposed on pilgrims from the area visiting the Kalon Chumik/120 Galwan side.
Taking serious note of the issue, the meeting decided that the matter would be taken up with the concerned higher Army authorities for appropriate examination and necessary action.
Police officials also emphasised the importance of maintaining regular dialogue with community representatives and addressing public concerns through coordinated efforts with all relevant stakeholders.
The meeting concluded on a cordial note, with participants appreciating District Police Changthang for conducting the PCPG interaction and providing a direct platform for grievance redressal, community engagement and stronger police-public relations.
