PULWAMA, SEPT 17: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today chaired a comprehensive review meeting in Pulwama to assess the progress of developmental works and implementation of various government schemes across the district, directing the concerned departments to accelerate ongoing projects and ensure timely completion of works.
The meeting focused on the pace of execution of key infrastructure and public welfare projects, with the Chief Minister calling for coordinated efforts among departments to remove bottlenecks and expedite projects aimed at improving essential services and strengthening the district’s development infrastructure.
The Chief Minister directed officers to accord priority to Pulwama’s key developmental requirements and maintain close monitoring of projects at the field level.
He stressed the need for timely execution, effective utilisation of resources and responsive administration so that the benefits of development initiatives reach the people without delay.
During his visit, the Chief Minister also dedicated to the people development projects worth ₹86 crore across several important sectors.
The projects cover infrastructure, agriculture, school education, health and tribal welfare, reflecting the government’s focus on strengthening basic amenities and expanding public services in the district.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Kumar Choudhary, Ministers, Advisor to the Chief Minister, local MLAs and senior officers of the civil administration and concerned departments.
The participation of elected representatives and senior officials provided a platform for detailed discussion on local priorities, ongoing works and issues requiring inter-departmental intervention.
The Chief Minister directed the officers to maintain regular field-level supervision and ensure that approved projects are executed within stipulated timelines.
He also called for greater coordination between departments and elected representatives in identifying developmental gaps and addressing the requirements of the people.
The review meeting formed part of the government’s continued assessment of district-level development, with emphasis on monitoring project implementation, strengthening public infrastructure and ensuring that government programmes translate into tangible benefits for residents.
