DODA, SEPT 12: Doda Police arrested an alleged drug peddler and recovered 6.43 grams of heroin (chitta)-like substance during a targeted operation near Parmaz road.
Acting on reliable information regarding the alleged sale of heroin-like substance to youth in the area, a police team from Police Station Doda, led by the SHO, intercepted a person moving under suspicious circumstances near Parmaz Road.
The accused was identified as Mansoor Ahmed, son of Bashir Ahmed, resident of Malwana, presently residing at Durga Nagar, Doda. During checking, police recovered approximately 6.43 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession.
The recovered contraband was seized as per procedure and the accused was taken into custody.
In connection with the recovery, FIR Number 253/2026 under Sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Doda.
Further investigation is underway to establish the forward and backward linkages of the accused and identify other individuals connected with the drug supply network.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Additional SP Doda and DySP Headquarters Doda, reflecting the district police’s continued focus on curbing narcotics trafficking and preventing drugs from reaching the younger generation.
Doda Police has urged the public to share credible information regarding drug peddling and other narcotics-related activities, assuring that the identity of informants will be kept confidential.
