GANDERBAL, SEPT 22: Stepping up the campaign against narcotic substances, Ganderbal Police and the Excise Department jointly launched a crackdown on the growth of wild cannabis (Bhang) in areas falling under Police Station Ganderbal.
During the drive, joint teams conducted searches in Arch and Choudharybagh and destroyed wild Bhang plants found growing along roadsides. The action was undertaken to prevent the plants from being misused for preparing illicit narcotic substances and to check the spread of drug-related activities in the area.
The operation forms part of the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir” campaign and reflects the coordinated efforts of the police and Excise Department to eliminate sources of narcotic substances at the grassroots level.
Ganderbal Police reiterated that similar preventive and enforcement drives will be intensified across the district and urged residents to cooperate with authorities by reporting the growth, cultivation or suspected movement of narcotic substances.
