ABU DHABI, SEPT 27: The 5th India–UAE Army-to-Army Staff Talks (AAST) were held in Abu Dhabi, with both sides reviewing ongoing defence cooperation and identifying areas for further strengthening bilateral military engagement.
The talks focused on sharing best practices, expanding professional exchanges and increasing participation in training courses and workshops in India, aimed at enhancing institutional and operational cooperation between the two armies.
As part of the discussions, both sides agreed to strengthen bilateral training through the participation of an integrated Combat Team in the next edition of Exercise Desert Cyclone.
The Indian Army delegation also visited Tawazun Industrial Park, where it witnessed a display of new-generation defence equipment, providing an opportunity to gain insights into the UAE’s defence-industrial capabilities and technological developments.
During the visit, the Indian delegation also called on Brig Gen Staff Mohamed Khamees Mohamed Al-Hassani, Deputy Commander, UAE Land Forces, and Dr Deepak Mittal, Ambassador of India to the UAE.
The engagements further reinforced institutional ties between the two countries and underscored the ongoing Comprehensive Strategic Defence Partnership between India and the UAE, with both sides continuing to expand cooperation in training, professional exchanges and defence engagement.
