Jammu and Kashmir has recorded significant expansion in the coverage of social security, food security and welfare schemes.
The official figures reveal that millions of beneficiaries were receiving assistance under various government programmes.
On the social-inclusion front, the data has revealed that 25.69 lakh families, covering 103.88 lakh beneficiaries, have been enrolled under NFSA, while 16.61 lakh households, representing 67.84 lakh beneficiaries, are receiving free ration under PMGKAY.
“Monthly pensions are being provided to 10.86 lakh beneficiaries, including old-age, widow and specially-abled beneficiaries,” it reads.
Under the Ladli Beti scheme, 2.257 lakh girls have benefited, with an expenditure of Rs 1,415.75 crore since inception.
“Marriage assistance has reached 1.72 lakh beneficiaries, with Rs 858.54 crore provided since inception,” it reads.
Also, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana has recorded 30,547 registrations, while 21,067 Vidyaarambh certificates have been distributed for children aged 5–6 years.
Under supplementary nutrition, 8,31,329 Aadhaar-authenticated beneficiaries have been covered up to July 2026, which include 43,734 pregnant women, 43,669 lactating mothers, 42,672 children aged up to six months, besides 6,78,772 children aged six months to six years and 22,482 adolescent girls.
The data shows 1,036 cases of Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM), constituting 0.16 percent, and 3,228 cases of moderate acute malnutrition (MAM), or 0.52 percent.
“APAAR IDs have reportedly been generated for 97 percent of eligible children aged 3–6 years through self-Aadhaar authentication,” it reads.
In July 2026, 32,592 people were screened for anaemia, out of which 5,003 cases were identified.
“Poshan Maah witnessed 12.84 lakh activities, while 8.40 lakh activities were undertaken during Poshan Pakhwada,” it reads.
Also, the Women Development Corporation has established 300 units employing 1,588 persons, while 157 SC/ST/BC units are employing 375 persons.
For Kashmiri migrants, the government data reveals that relief of Rs 3,250 per person per month, subject to a maximum of Rs 13,000 per family, besides ration through DBT, is being provided.
Under transit accommodation, 6,000 flats are planned, while 5,000 have been completed and 3,257 have been allotted as well.
“Against 6,000 identified posts for migrants, 5,896 posts have been filled, representing 98 percent,” it reads.
The administration has issued 1.64 lakh domicile certificates and 37,000 migrant certificates, besides other certificates.
As per the official data, a digital portal project costing Rs 22.55 crore is underway, while the Jagti Community Hall project, with a project cost of Rs 26.64 crore, is around 95 percent complete.
“The POJK Bhawan at Suketar, Nagrota, estimated at Rs 9.95 crore, is under construction and has achieved 45 percent progress,” it reads.
