SRINAGAR, SEPT 18: Minister for Health & Medical Education, School Education, Higher Education and Social Welfare Sakeena Itoo on Friday directed senior officers of the School Education Department to ensure transparent, efficient and time-bound resolution of pending Human Resource Management (HRM) and service-related issues.
Chairing a high-level meeting at the Civil Secretariat here, the Minister reviewed the overall status of HRM matters affecting the functioning and administration of schools across Jammu and Kashmir and took stock of issues requiring immediate attention.
The meeting, convened in accordance with the directions of the School Education Department, was attended by senior departmental officers, who deliberated on various human-resource and administrative matters concerning the department.
Sakeena Itoo stressed that service-related cases should not remain pending unnecessarily and directed the concerned officers to undertake a comprehensive review of all outstanding HRM issues. She called for streamlining administrative procedures so that genuine cases are processed and resolved within a defined timeframe.
The Minister further underscored the need for fairness, transparency and accountability in dealing with employees’ service matters, directing officers to ensure that every case is examined objectively and disposed of with due diligence.
She maintained that effective management of human resources is vital for improving the functioning of educational institutions and creating an efficient administrative system capable of supporting better academic outcomes.
The Minister also called for greater coordination among concerned branches and timely follow-up on decisions taken on HRM matters, with the objective of making the School Education Department more responsive to the needs of its employees and institutions.
The meeting assumes significance amid the Government’s continued focus on resolving long-pending service issues, strengthening administrative mechanisms and improving human-resource management in the education sector.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, the Government has been according focused attention to administrative reforms and strengthening the education sector across Jammu and Kashmir.
