REASI, SEPT 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre Reasi, organised its third Boot Camp under Startup Idea Challenge 2.0 at Government ITI Reasi, providing more than 100 students with practical exposure to innovation, entrepreneurship and startup development.
The programme aimed to encourage young participants to identify real-world socio-economic and environmental challenges, develop viable solutions and learn how to present their ideas through a structured startup framework.
The boot camp was formally inaugurated by Ujjwal Sambyal (JKAS), Assistant Director, District Employment and Counselling Centre Reasi, in the presence of Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal, Government Polytechnic College Reasi; Rajesh Kumar, Superintendent, ITI Reasi; and Syed Asrar Qadri, District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Reasi.
Addressing the participants, Ujjwal Sambyal appreciated JKEDI’s initiative and stressed the importance of exposing youth to innovation, entrepreneurship and problem-solving skills at an early stage.
Rajesh Kumar encouraged students to look beyond conventional career options and explore opportunities for creating sustainable local enterprises by making effective use of available local resources.
Er. Arun Bangotra urged the students to focus on genuine community and environmental challenges and develop startup concepts that address such issues while presenting their ideas with clarity and confidence.
The technical session was conducted by Syed Asrar Qadri, who organised a detailed workshop on the Startup Idea Pitching Process.
Students were introduced to key aspects of developing a viable startup, including identification of core problem statements, relevance of proposed solutions, innovation, feasibility, scalability, potential socio-economic impact and business model design.
The interactive pitching session provided participants an opportunity to present their business concepts before experts, receive practical feedback and understand the process of transforming initial ideas into scalable and sustainable ventures.
The participating students showcased a diverse range of concepts aimed at addressing social, economic and environmental challenges, reflecting the growing interest among young people in entrepreneurship and local innovation.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Sorab Mengi, Assistant Manager, JKEDI, who expressed gratitude to the guests, institutional heads, faculty members and students for their support and active participation.
He encouraged the young innovators to continue developing solutions capable of contributing to meaningful economic and social change in Jammu and Kashmir.
