A Police Station Katra team was conducting checking in the area when it noticed a group of suspicious persons near Government Middle School, Guni Parthal. On seeing the police, the suspects allegedly attempted to flee, prompting the personnel to launch a pursuit and apprehend all six.

The subsequent search led to the recovery of 21.09 grams of suspected heroin, besides a weighing machine and other articles believed to be connected with the handling and distribution of narcotic substances. Police also seized one sword and two tokas from three of the accused.

The arrested persons have been identified as Sanjay Kumar of Didi Pangal, Ravi Kumar of Aghar Jitto, Mohan Singh of Didi Pangal, Vikram Singh of Didi Pangal, Randhir Singh of Parthal, Katra, and Pardeep Singh of Parthal, Katra.

Police records indicate that some of the arrested accused have previous FIRs registered at Police Station Katra, prompting investigators to examine whether the latest seizure is linked to a broader pattern of drug-related and other criminal activity.

Following the operation, FIR Number 316/2026 was registered at Police Station Katra under Sections 8/21/22/29 of the NDPS Act, 132 and 351(2) read with 3(5) BNS, and 4/25 of the Arms Act.

With the arrests, the investigation has moved beyond the immediate recovery to tracing the source and supply chain of the suspected narcotics, identifying potential suppliers and receivers, and determining whether the accused were operating as part of a wider local drug network.

The recovery of narcotics alongside sharp-edged weapons has also prompted police to examine the possible connection between the alleged drug trade and other forms of criminal activity in the area.

Further investigation is underway, with police focusing on identifying additional persons linked to the suspected narcotics network and establishing the full chain behind the seized contraband.
