Lt Gen Pratik Sharma reviews operational readiness in Rajouri, Kalakot, calls for unwavering vigilance

RAJOURI, OCT 6: Army Commander Northern Command Lt Gen Pratik Sharma visited the Kalakot and Rajouri sectors to take stock of operational preparedness and assess the prevailing security situation along the Line of Control (LoC) and in the hinterland, amid the continued need for heightened vigilance in the strategically sensitive region.

During the visit, the Army Commander was briefed on the overall operational posture, surveillance and security measures, troop preparedness, training standards and coordination mechanisms being maintained to meet emerging security challenges. He also reviewed innovative practices being adopted by formations and units to strengthen situational awareness, operational effectiveness and the Army’s ability to respond swiftly to evolving threats.

The briefings focused on maintaining a dominant and responsive security posture, with emphasis on vigilance, realistic training, operational synergy and effective utilisation of available resources to safeguard vulnerable areas and prevent adversarial attempts to disrupt peace and stability.

Interacting with troops deployed in the forward and hinterland areas, Lt Gen Sharma appreciated their professionalism, commitment and steadfast devotion to duty. He commended the personnel for maintaining a high degree of operational readiness despite the demanding terrain and challenging security environment.

The Army Commander exhorted troops to remain resolute, alert and mission-ready, stressing that sustained vigilance and preparedness are essential to effectively counter any misadventure by the adversary. He also underscored the importance of maintaining the highest standards of discipline, training and operational excellence.

The visit underscored the Army’s continued focus on strengthening preparedness and maintaining a robust security grid across the Rajouri-Kalakot belt, with troops directed to remain prepared for swift and effective responses to emerging threats.
