JAMMU, SEPT 27: Young swimmers and Masters athletes showcased their talent and competitive spirit as the J&K Khelo Masters Foundation organised the 4th Khelo Masters Inter-School and Masters Championship at International Delhi Public School (IDPS), Jammu.
The championship witnessed massive participation from students representing various schools besides Masters swimmers, with competitions conducted across multiple age groups from Under-5 to Under-17 in the Inter-School category.
The Masters events were held for participants aged 30 years and above.
In the U-9 to U-10 category, IDPS Jammu’s Ebaad Nadeem clinched gold, followed by Sahastrajeet Singh Jamwal with silver and Parbshish Singh with bronze.
The 25-metre freestyle in the U-12 to U-14 category saw Mahik Bin Akthar claim gold, Milhaan Bin Akthar silver, while Samarth Sethi and Gurasis Singh secured bronze medals. In the 50-metre freestyle, Mahik Bin Akthar again took gold, with Ebaad Nadeem winning silver and Milhaan Bin Akthar bronze.
In the 25-metre breaststroke, Saksham Bashotra emerged winner, while Milhaan Bin Akthar and Ebaad Nadeem secured silver and bronze respectively.
Among the girls, Miran Pasha Patoi of Jodhamal School won gold in the U-5 to U-7 freestyle category. In the U-8 to U-12 category, Sayeed Maheen Yousaf bagged gold, Alisha Arfan Mir silver, while Kritika Pathania of DPS and Salina Arif won bronze medals. Ravvya Raj Sharma won gold in the U-12 to U-14 category, while Aaidha Nabi secured gold in the U-17 category.The Masters competitions also witnessed spirited performances. David Sandhu won gold in the 100-metre individual medley, while Kapil Gupta claimed gold in the 25-metre freestyle, followed by Ridhim Anand with silver and Anil Shivgotra with bronze.
In the 25-metre breaststroke, Ridhim Anand secured gold, Sanjeev Dogra silver and Anil Shivgotra bronze. Vijan Goyal won gold and Shuaan silver in the 25-metre freestyle, while the duo repeated their respective positions in the 50-metre freestyle U-17 event.
The championship was attended by Managing Director IDPS Suminder Singh Chugh as chief guest, while MD IDPS Swaran Singh and Principal IDPS Randeep Wazir were guests of honour.
At the evening session, Rajeev Sharma was the chief guest and Ravinder Singh attended as guest of honour.
Speaking on the occasion, Suminder Singh Chugh appreciated the Khelo Masters Foundation for providing young swimmers with a competitive platform and encouraging sporting talent.
He assured full support to the organising committee and particularly appreciated Convener David Sandhu for holding the championship at IDPS Jammu.
The event was also attended by Khelo India Foundation Convenor David Sandhu, J&K Coordinator Jaswinder Singh Kukku and Swimming General Secretary Kapil Gupta.
The championship provided a vibrant platform for emerging swimmers and Masters athletes to compete across age groups, with the strong participation underlining the growing interest in swimming and organised sporting activities in Jammu.
