ANANTNAG, SEPT 27: Mattan Police arrested a suspected drug peddler during naka checking at Kehribal near Zig-Zag Mod and recovered 96.4 grams of cannabis from his possession.
A police party from Police Station Mattan, while conducting checking in the area, intercepted and apprehended the suspect, identified as Adil Khursheed Bhat, son of Khursheed Ahmad Bhat, resident of Chickenpora, Krungsu.
During his personal search, police recovered seven strips of cannabis weighing 96.4 grams, wrapped in polythene.
Following the recovery, FIR Number 107/2026 under relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Mattan, and further investigation has been initiated to ascertain the source and possible links of the recovered contraband.
The action underscores Mattan Police’s ongoing crackdown against drug trafficking and efforts to prevent the spread of narcotic substances among youth.
