SRINAGAR, OCT 18: Jammu and Kashmir Minister for Education Sakeena Masood Itoo on Sunday extended her best wishes to students appearing in the annual Class 10th, 11th and 12th examinations conducted by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE), urging them to approach the examinations with confidence, discipline and a positive mindset while cautioning parents against placing unnecessary pressure on their children.

With approximately 2.7 lakh students set to appear in the examinations across Kashmir and the winter-zone areas of Jammu, the Education Minister emphasised that students should focus on their preparation, manage their time effectively and avoid excessive anxiety as they enter an important phase of their academic journey.

According to the examination schedule, the Class 10th examinations will commence on October 19, followed by Class 12th examinations on October 21 and Class 11th examinations on October 29, 2026. JKBOSE has completed the necessary preparations for the smooth and orderly conduct of the examinations.

In her message to students, Itoo said the examinations provided an opportunity for them to demonstrate their hard work, dedication and perseverance. She encouraged students to believe in their abilities, remain calm and give their best rather than allow examination-related stress to affect their performance.

The Minister stressed that examinations, while important for academic progression, should be approached as milestones in a student’s educational journey rather than as a source of overwhelming pressure. She urged candidates to maintain a balanced outlook, use their time wisely and enter examination centres with confidence and a positive attitude.

Highlighting the important role of families in supporting students during examinations, Itoo appealed to parents to demonstrate patience, understanding and encouragement. She advised them to refrain from imposing unnecessary pressure and instead create a peaceful and reassuring atmosphere at home.

The Minister emphasised that students require emotional support and confidence during examination periods, adding that their physical and mental well-being should remain a priority. A supportive family environment, she indicated, can help students concentrate on their studies and approach examinations with greater confidence.

Her message comes as thousands of students across the Union Territory prepare to appear in the three classes’ annual board examinations over the coming days.

To ensure transparency and facilitate the timely resolution of examination-related complaints, JKBOSE has constituted a Grievance-cum-Monitoring Cell. Students, parents and other stakeholders can contact the designated offices in the Jammu and Kashmir divisions for assistance.

To ensure timely redressal of examination-related grievances, JKBOSE has constituted a Grievance-cum-Monitoring Cell. Students, parents and other stakeholders in the Jammu Division can seek assistance by emailing jsexamsjd.jkbose@jk.gov.in or contacting the helpline at 0191-2585732. For the Kashmir Division, grievances can be submitted via email at jsexamskd.jkbose@jk.gov.in or by calling 0194-3186762.

The mechanism is intended to provide a channel through which examination-related concerns can be communicated to the concerned authorities for appropriate action.

The Education Minister also urged centre superintendents and examination staff to ensure that all examinations are conducted fairly, transparently and impartially, with strict discipline and due regard for the integrity of the examination system.

She underscored the importance of maintaining proper examination standards and ensuring that students receive a fair opportunity to demonstrate their academic abilities.

Concluding her message, Itoo extended her best wishes to all 2.7 lakh candidates and encouraged them to remain focused, confident and committed to their efforts.

“Stay focused, stay confident and let your hard work shine,” the Minister said in her message, expressing hope that students would achieve success and move towards a bright future.

With the Class 10th examinations scheduled to begin on October 19, the Education Minister’s appeal places emphasis not only on academic preparation but also on student well-being, parental support, accessible grievance redressal and the fair conduct of examinations across Jammu and Kashmir.
