NEW DELHI, SEPT 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump on Wednesday held a telephone conversation and discussed the entire spectrum of India-US bilateral cooperation, including trade, defence, energy and critical technologies, besides exchanging views on major regional and international developments.
The conversation comes amid continued efforts by New Delhi and Washington to deepen their Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership and expand cooperation across strategic and economic sectors.
According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, the two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation and discussed areas of mutual interest.
“The two leaders reviewed progress in bilateral cooperation across trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas of mutual interest,” the PMO said.
The leaders also discussed regional and international developments and ongoing efforts to promote global peace and security, the statement added.
Following the conversation, Prime Minister Modi described his interaction with President Trump as “productive”.
“Had a productive conversation with President Trump. We reviewed our bilateral cooperation in trade, defence, energy, critical technologies and other areas,” Modi said in a post on X.
The Prime Minister said the two sides had agreed to maintain close engagement to take the India-US Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership forward.
The latest interaction reflects continued high-level engagement between the two countries at a time when trade, defence technology, energy cooperation and critical and emerging technologies remain important components of the bilateral relationship.
Both leaders agreed to remain in touch, according to the PMO, as India and the United States continue consultations on bilateral, regional and global issues.
