Apni Party Chief Spokesperson and State Secretary Muntazir Mohiuddin on Wednesday said that employees working under the National Health Mission (NHM) have been serving in the health sector since the inception of the scheme and have played an important role in strengthening healthcare delivery, particularly at the grassroots level in Jammu and Kashmir.
Expressing serious concern over the long-pending demands of the NHM employees, Muntazir, as per a statement, said that despite their valuable contribution to the healthcare system, their genuine demands have remained unresolved for years, forcing them to take to the streets to make their voices heard.
Muntazir was addressing a gathering of protesting NHM employees outside the Chief Medical Officer’s (CMO) office in Budgam.
Pertinently, the NHM employees have been protesting across Jammu and Kashmir for more than a week, seeking the fulfilment of their long-pending demands, including a comprehensive job policy, equal pay for equal work, salary revision, retirement benefits, and social security.
Expressing solidarity with the protesting employees, Muntazir said that the Apni Party and its entire leadership stand with them in support of their legitimate demands.
He urged the government to take immediate steps to address the concerns of NHM employees and ensure that their demands, particularly those related to job security, salary revision, retirement benefits, and social security, are considered and fulfilled.
