Rehari Police crack house theft within 24 hrs, recover gold ornaments worth ₹7 lakh

JAMMU, OCT 4: In a swift investigation, Rehari Police, solved a house theft case within 24 hours and recovered stolen gold ornaments valued at approximately ₹7 lakh, leading to the arrest of the accused.

The case was registered as FIR Number 155/2026 under Sections 331(3) and 305 of the BNS at Police Station Pacca Danga following a complaint regarding the theft of gold ornaments from a residential house falling within the jurisdiction of Police Post Rehari.

Acting promptly on the complaint, special investigation teams were constituted by the SHO Pacca Danga under the supervision of SDPO North Jammu. The team led by the Incharge Police Post Rehari, immediately launched a focused investigation, combining human intelligence with technical inputs to identify and track the suspect.

The sustained investigation yielded a breakthrough within 24 hours, with police apprehending the suspected accused. During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to his involvement in the theft and, based on his disclosure, police recovered the entire stolen gold ornaments worth around ₹7 lakh.

The accused has been arrested and is presently in police custody, while further investigation is underway to establish the complete circumstances of the theft and examine any other possible linkages.

The prompt recovery of the stolen property highlights the coordinated efforts of Rehari Police and Police Station Pacca Danga in swiftly responding to property-related offences and bringing the investigation to a breakthrough.
