GANDERBAL, SEPT 21: J&K BJP President and Rajya Sabha MP Sat Sharma said the younger generation is the driving force behind India’s journey towards becoming a developed nation, stressing the need to connect youth with the values of service, responsibility and nation-building.
Sharma was speaking as the chief guest at a drawing competition organised at Vijay Memorial School, Ganderbal, under the ongoing month-long Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan.
He was accompanied by BJP J&K Vice President Dr. Shehnaz Ganai, General Secretaries Mohammad Anwar Khan and Gopal Mahajan, who is also J&K Incharge of the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, and Ganderbal District President Ghulam Hassan.
Interacting with participating students, Sharma appreciated their creativity and encouraged them to pursue their dreams with dedication, discipline and a strong sense of social responsibility.
He said creative activities provide children with an opportunity to express their vision of India while developing awareness of their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
“India’s future is being shaped in a more dynamic way today. The dreams, ideas and imagination of our children will determine the India of tomorrow,” Sharma said, adding that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country is moving with confidence towards the vision of Viksit Bharat @2047.
Sharma said the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan, being organised from September 17 to October 17, seeks to turn Prime Minister Modi’s birthday celebrations into a sustained period of service and social engagement.
He said the campaign was aimed at taking the message of public service beyond political programmes and into communities, schools and among the younger generation.
He also highlighted the government’s focus on education, infrastructure, technology, connectivity and opportunities for youth, saying these areas were important in enabling young people to actively contribute to the country’s development.
Dr. Shehnaz Ganai said engaging students through creative activities strengthens their confidence and encourages them to develop a positive outlook towards society and the nation.
Mohammad Anwar Khan said the BJP was taking its message of service to different sections of society while giving special importance to youth participation.
Gopal Mahajan said the Sewa Sankalp Abhiyan was being conducted across J&K through a range of service-oriented activities aimed at ensuring meaningful public participation at the grassroots level.
Ghulam Hassan said the enthusiastic participation of students reflected their creativity, aspirations and growing awareness of their responsibilities towards society and the nation.
