SAMBA, SEPT 19: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Samba Anuj Kumar, accompanied by Additional SP Samba, DySP Headquarters Samba and DySP SOG Samba, conducted a comprehensive security review of Border Police Posts (BPPs) at Mawa, Babber Nallah and Lalechak.

During the inspection, the SSP reviewed the preparedness, deployment and functioning of personnel under the Border Protection Grid and issued a series of directions to further strengthen security along the border.

The SSP directed personnel to maintain round-the-clock alertness, particularly at strategically sensitive locations, and stressed strict vigilance by sentries deployed at the BPPs.

He also called for regular firing and weapon-handling practices to ensure operational readiness.

Emphasising the need for stronger surveillance, SSP Samba directed personnel to conduct effective naka checking and intensified night patrolling to detect and prevent any suspicious movement or untoward incident.

He also directed personnel to strengthen coordination with Village Defence Guards (VDGs) and utilise them effectively as force multipliers for improving information flow and strengthening the security grid in border villages.

The SSP further called for close coordination with other security agencies and prompt sharing of actionable intelligence, stressing that proactive policing, coordination and vigilance were essential for maintaining a robust Border Protection Grid.

Concluding the visit, SSP Samba directed all ranks to remain fully alert, maintain operational preparedness and perform their duties with dedication and professionalism.

He reiterated that the security of border areas remains a priority and that all necessary measures must be taken to safeguard residents and maintain peace.
