RAJOURI, SEPT 17: The investigation into the Dharamsal terror module has yielded a fresh breakthrough, with police recovering a pistol, magazine and ammunition besides two Chinese grenades on the disclosure of three already arrested accused allegedly linked to a logistic support network of the proscribed Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
The development came during further investigation into FIR Number 95/2026 of Police Station Dharamsal, following the earlier arrest of Mohd Azam, son of Ali Bahadur; Zakir Hussain, son of Ghulam Hussain; and Mohd Mushtaq, son of Mohd Iqbal, all residents of Kot Charwal.
According to investigators, the arrested accused allegedly formed part of a logistic support module, providing shelter, assistance and facilitating the movement of terrorists associated with the proscribed outfit.
The investigation has also brought out their alleged role in harbouring and facilitating the movement of terrorists who were subsequently killed in an encounter at Chassana, Reasi, in 2023.
Investigators have further established that the accused allegedly provided shelter and logistical support to multiple terrorist groups, facilitating their movement across the Rajouri-Reasi districts and through the Pir Panjal region towards Shopian.
Acting on disclosures made during the ongoing investigation, police today recovered one pistol along with a magazine and ammunition, besides two Chinese grenades.
The fresh recovery has given investigators additional leads into the alleged terror-support infrastructure and the movement of terrorist groups through the region.
Police are now probing the wider network, including the sources of logistical assistance, movement routes and possible involvement of other persons.Further investigation is underway.
