GANDERBAL, SEPT 13: In a major success for Ganderbal Police, three minor boys reported missing from Tulmulla were traced in Pune, Maharashtra, after an extensive 10-day search operation and safely reunited with their respective families.
Police said that on September 3, 2026, Police Station Kheerbhawani received a written complaint from Hamza Bin Yousuf, son of Mohammad Yousuf Ganie, resident of Tulmulla, regarding the disappearance of three minor boys.
Following the complaint, a case was registered under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and a search operation was immediately launched.
During the investigation, police teams worked on both human and technical intelligence, eventually developing vital leads regarding the whereabouts of the missing boys. A special police team was subsequently deputed to trace and recover them.
After continuous efforts and sustained follow-up, the three boys were traced on September 9 at Daund Railway Station in Pune, Maharashtra, with the assistance of Maharashtra Police.
The minors were brought back safely to Ganderbal and reunited with their respective families.
The successful recovery underscores the coordinated efforts of Ganderbal Police and Maharashtra Police, as well as the importance of sustained investigation and technical intelligence in tracing missing persons.
