RAMBAN, OCT 6: Director Tourism Jammu Dr. Vikas Gupta, who is also the mentor for Ramban district, conducted a comprehensive review of the implementation of the Jammu & Kashmir Farmers Registry, AgriStack, Farmer ID creation and digitisation of revenue records, directing officials to accelerate the process and ensure maximum coverage of eligible farmers within the prescribed deadline.

Dr. Gupta held a detailed meeting with Deputy Commissioner Ramban Alyas Khan and senior Revenue officials to assess the progress of farmer registration on the J&K Farmers Registry Portal and the status of AgriStack implementation. He called for focused field-level intervention to ensure that eligible farmers are registered without delay and the stipulated targets are achieved by October 31.

During the meeting, the Director stressed the importance of accurate and comprehensive farmer data for effective implementation of agriculture-related schemes and directed concerned officers to intensify registration efforts, remove procedural bottlenecks and ensure that eligible beneficiaries are facilitated throughout the registration process.

Dr. Gupta subsequently undertook a field visit to Champa, Kothri and Thopal villages of Batote Tehsil, where he interacted with field functionaries and reviewed the ground-level progress of Farmer Registry registration and Farmer ID creation.

He took stock of difficulties being faced by officials and farmers and directed the field machinery to organise registration and Farmer ID creation camps at the local level, particularly to facilitate farmers who may otherwise face difficulties in completing the digital registration process.

The officials were asked to adopt a proactive approach and ensure that no eligible farmer is left out due to lack of awareness, procedural difficulties or inadequate facilitation.

The field inspection also included a quality assessment of digitised Jamabandies, the traditional revenue records containing details of land ownership and related entries. The exercise focused on checking the accuracy, completeness and reliability of digitised land records.

Dr. Gupta directed Revenue officials to identify discrepancies, if any, and ensure their prompt verification and rectification, stressing that digitisation must not merely involve conversion of records into electronic form but should also preserve the accuracy and integrity of the underlying land data.

He further emphasised the importance of timely disposal of inheritance mutations and maintaining updated revenue records to strengthen the reliability of digitised land information.

The Director called for close coordination between the Revenue and Agriculture Departments and field-level functionaries for effective implementation of AgriStack, timely creation of Farmer IDs, comprehensive farmer registration and quality digitisation of land records.

He directed officials to maintain continuous monitoring of progress and resolve field-level issues through coordinated intervention so that the targets are achieved within the prescribed timeline.

ACR Ramban Shoket Hayat Mattoo, Tehsildar Batote Vijay Sharma and Naib Tehsildar Batote, besides other Revenue officials and field functionaries, accompanied the Director during the field inspection.
