RAMBAN, SEP 23: Two police personnel were found dead inside a car at Ziarat Morh in the Sana area of Batote tehsil in Ramban district on Tuesday evening, officials said.
According to officials, the two personnel were found unconscious inside a Fiat Linea bearing registration number JK19-5299 at around 8:30 pm.
Locals shifted them to District Hospital Ramban, where doctors declared them brought dead.
The deceased have been identified as Head Constable Farid Ahmed, resident of Bhatti, Ramban, and Selection Grade Constable Muhammad Yaqoob, resident of Jatgali, Ramban. Both were posted at District Police Lines (DPL), Ramban.
Their bodies have been kept at the hospital mortuary for medico-legal formalities.
Officials said the exact cause and circumstances leading to the deaths were not immediately known.
Police have initiated proceedings and are examining all circumstances surrounding the incident. Further details are awaited as the inquiry progresses.
