REASI, OCT 2: Marking Gandhi Jayanti and reinforcing the message of cleanliness and civic responsibility associated with the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, the 1 JKAP IR Battalion organised a cleanliness drive at its headquarters in Reasi.
The campaign covered the entire battalion premises as well as the surrounding areas, with officers and officials of the unit participating in the cleanliness activities with enthusiasm. The initiative was aimed at promoting cleanliness, environmental responsibility and collective participation among police personnel.
The drive was conducted under the leadership of SSP Rajinder Katoch, Commandant, 1 JKAP IR Battalion Reasi, with personnel joining the campaign as part of the Gandhi Jayanti observance.
The programme highlighted the importance of maintaining clean and hygienic surroundings not only within institutional premises but also in adjoining public spaces. The participation of the battalion personnel reflected the police force’s emphasis on community-oriented civic responsibility alongside its core law-and-order duties.
The cleanliness campaign also served as a reminder of the broader objectives of the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan, encouraging sustained efforts towards sanitation, cleanliness and responsible public conduct.
The J&K Police has been undertaking cleanliness and community-oriented initiatives on significant national occasions, with such programmes providing an opportunity for personnel to contribute directly to maintaining cleaner and healthier surroundings.
