BARAMULLA, SEPT 30: Baramulla Police conducted a Terrorist Incident Intervention (TII) Naka Response Rehearsal on the Baramulla–Chandoosa Road on Wednesday, putting the operational preparedness of security and emergency response agencies to the test during a simulated attack scenario.
The exercise was conducted under the overall supervision of SP Operations Baramulla and was designed to assess the ability of participating agencies to respond rapidly, coordinate effectively and manage a developing security situation.
During the simulated attack, participating personnel carried out rapid naka deployment, cordoning and access control, tactical intervention, area domination and evacuation preparedness as per their designated roles.
The drill brought together multiple security and emergency response units, including SOG Baramulla, 53 Battalion CRPF, 112 Battalion BSF, Police Station Baramulla, GMC Baramulla, SDRF Baramulla, Fire & Emergency Services Baramulla, BDS, AST and the K9 Squad of DPL Baramulla.
Particular focus was placed on the speed of response, communication between different agencies, coordination of ground operations and the ability of personnel to effectively handle a simulated terrorist threat.
The rehearsal also provided an opportunity to identify potential gaps in response mechanisms, inter-agency communication and operational preparedness, enabling participating units to further refine their procedures for handling real-time security challenges.
The performance of the teams was assessed on parameters including alertness, response time, tactical coordination, communication and effective management of the simulated situation.
The exercise was completed successfully, with police officials stressing the importance of regular joint rehearsals to maintain a high level of operational readiness and ensure coordinated responses during any emerging security challenge in the district.
The drill reaffirmed the preparedness of J&K Police and allied security and emergency agencies to respond swiftly and in a coordinated manner to potential threats.
