LEH, SEPT 30: A two-day Capacity Building Programme for teachers on the implementation of Skill Education through Kaushal Bodh and Kaushal Vikas textbooks concluded on Wednesday at the District Institute of Education & Training (DIET), Leh.
The programme, held on September 29 and 30, was organised under the guidance of the Department of Skill Education, CBSE, New Delhi, in coordination with the Directorate of School Education, Ladakh. It was aimed at strengthening the capacity of Principals and teachers engaged in teaching Skill Education to students of Classes 6 to 10.
The training placed particular emphasis on the effective use of the Kaushal Bodh and Kaushal Vikas textbooks, with focus on experiential, activity-based and project-oriented approaches to classroom learning.
The concluding ceremony was attended by distinguished representatives and resource persons from CBSE, including R. P. Singh, Additional Director/Associate Professor, CBSE; Satish Pahal, Joint Director/Assistant Professor, CBSE; Alka Singh, Principal, Blue Bells Model School, Gurugram, Haryana; and Dr. Shyda Rana, Freelancer/Consultant, Army Public School, Delhi Cantt.
Welcoming the guests and participating teachers, I/C Principal DIET Leh, Mirza Mehdi, underlined the growing importance of skill education in school learning.
He stressed the need to provide students with meaningful opportunities for learning by doing, creativity, problem-solving and practical application of knowledge.
The resource persons shared their expertise, experiences and practical strategies for strengthening the implementation of Skill Education at the school level. Interactive sessions enabled teachers to discuss classroom challenges, exchange ideas and explore ways to adapt skill-based activities to the local context of Ladakh.
The concluding session reviewed the key learning outcomes of the programme and highlighted that the effectiveness of Skill Education depends not merely on the availability of textbooks but on their translation into meaningful, hands-on classroom experiences.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, acknowledging the contribution of the Department of Skill Education, CBSE, Directorate of School Education, Ladakh, DIET Leh, resource persons, Principals and participating teachers.
The capacity-building initiative was described as an important step towards strengthening skill-based and experiential education across schools in Ladakh, while enabling teachers to equip students with practical skills, confidence, creativity and problem-solving abilities essential for their future.
