SRINAGAR, SEPT 18: A delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Northern Region, led by Chairman Puneet Kaura, met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and discussed measures to accelerate industrial development, strengthen investment opportunities and expand employment prospects in Jammu and Kashmir.

The delegation comprised Iqram Ali Shafiee, Chairman, CII J&K UT Council; Siddhant Choudhary, Vice Chairman, CII J&K UT Council; Rachna Jindal, Regional Director, CII Northern Region; and Khurshid Dar, Director, CII J&K UT Council.

During the interaction, the CII representatives shared their views on enhancing the participation of the private sector in skill development initiatives and creating stronger employment linkages for the youth of the Union Territory.

The delegation also highlighted the need for closer government-industry coordination to promote investment and facilitate sustainable industrial growth. Discussions covered measures that could strengthen the business ecosystem and encourage greater participation of the industrial sector in Jammu and Kashmir’s economic development.

Issues related to industry policy reforms were also discussed, with the CII stressing the importance of continued engagement between the administration and industry stakeholders to address emerging requirements of businesses and investors.

The meeting explored avenues for deeper collaboration in areas including skill development, employment generation, investment promotion and industrial expansion, with the objective of creating greater opportunities for the youth and supporting sustained economic growth across Jammu and Kashmir.
