UDHAMPUR, SEPT 26: Director General of Police Nalin Prabhat on Saturday reviewed the ongoing counter-terror operations along the Udhampur-Kathua belt and directed security forces to maintain heightened vigilance, operational readiness and close coordination to effectively counter terrorist threats.
Accompanied by DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Shiv Kumar Sharma and IGP Jammu Zone Tejinder Singh, the DGP took a detailed assessment of the prevailing security situation, progress of ongoing operations and deployment of forces across the sensitive belt.
He also reviewed the operational preparedness and security arrangements in the area.
During the visit, DGP Prabhat felicitated personnel involved in Operation Soan, commending their courage, commitment and professional conduct in the operation that resulted in the neutralisation of two Pakistani Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists.
The DGP stressed the need for sustained and coordinated operations to track terrorist networks, identify their support structures and prevent any attempt to disturb peace and security in the region.
He also emphasised real-time intelligence sharing, inter-agency coordination and sustained vigilance across the Udhampur-Kathua belt, directing personnel to remain prepared to meet emerging security challenges.
IGP Tejinder Singh briefed the DGP on operational aspects and security measures being implemented in the area.
