SRINAGAR, SEPT 17: Health and Medical Education Minister Sakeena Itoo on Thursday said the government was committed to addressing the genuine concerns of National Health Mission (NHM) employees and assured that their demands would be examined through the appropriate channels.
Speaking to reporters in Pampore, Itoo said multiple rounds of discussions had already been held with the protesting employees and that she had personally taken up their concerns.
She said directions had been issued to the concerned department to examine all issues mentioned in the employees’ representations.
“The Government will certainly do whatever it can for them,” Itoo said, expressing hope that the employees would respond positively to the government’s assurance and return to their duties.
The Minister said the employees were an important part of the healthcare system and appealed to them to ensure that patients and the public did not face inconvenience because of the strike.
