NEW DELHI, SEPT 17: IndiGo has revised charges for several domestic flight services, increasing the cost of infant travel, excess baggage, unaccompanied minor services, priority check-in and boarding, and travel certificates.
Under the revised fee structure, the charge for infants travelling with an accompanying adult has been increased to ₹3,000 from ₹2,000. The fee applies to infants aged more than three days and up to two years.
As per the airline’s rules, infants are not allotted separate seats and must travel on the lap of an accompanying adult. Only one infant is permitted per adult passenger. The infant fee is payable at the time of booking, while passengers may be required to produce valid proof of the child’s age during travel.IndiGo has also raised its domestic excess baggage charge from ₹700 to ₹800 per kg.
Passengers exceeding their applicable baggage allowance will therefore pay an additional ₹100 for every excess kilogram.
The airline has increased the charge for its unaccompanied minor service from ₹5,000 to ₹5,999.
The facility is available for eligible children travelling without an accompanying adult and remains subject to IndiGo’s applicable rules and conditions.
The combined priority check-in and priority boarding fee has also been revised upward from ₹450 to ₹650, an increase of ₹200.In another revision, the fee for obtaining a travel certificate has been increased from ₹200 to ₹300.
The latest changes mean passengers opting for these services on domestic IndiGo flights will have to pay higher charges, even where the base airfare remains unchanged.
