SRINAGAR, SEPT 23: The Private Schools Association Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) has welcomed Chief Minister Omar Abdullah’s assurance that the Government will work towards reducing unnecessary No-Objection Certificates (NOCs) and regulatory requirements for the private education sector.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing the award ceremony of the ALOHA National Level Competition-2026 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Convention Centre (SKICC) in Srinagar.
He assured stakeholders from the private sector, including school and higher education institutions, that the Government would work towards creating a more conducive ecosystem based on “Ease of Doing” and “Ease of Establishment.”
Referring specifically to private schools, Omar Abdullah said unnecessary NOCs and regulatory requirements would be reduced in the coming days, signalling a move towards simplifying the administrative processes faced by private educational institutions.
The assurance was welcomed by PSAJK President Dr Baba Nazrul Islam, who expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister and the Education Department for what he described as a positive and forward-looking approach towards the private education sector.
“Private education is an important knowledge partner of the Government and is contributing significantly to the educational development of Jammu and Kashmir,” Dr Baba Nazrul Islam said.
He added that the association looks forward to a more conducive, transparent and enabling environment for private schools, saying that streamlined regulations would help institutions focus more effectively on their core educational responsibilities.
The association said greater clarity and simplification of regulatory procedures would also strengthen cooperation between the Government and private educational institutions and support the broader objective of improving the education ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
