LEH, SEPT 19: The ICDS Department Leh organised a one-day demonstration and training programme for Anganwadi Helpers at the State Institute of Hotel Management (SIHM), Leh, under the ongoing Poshan Maah campaign on the theme “Hot Cooked Meals.”

The programme focused on enhancing the culinary skills and practical knowledge of Anganwadi Helpers, with emphasis on hygienic food preparation, nutrition, food safety, taste and simple recipes suitable for children and other beneficiaries at Anganwadi Centres.

Faculty members of SIHM Leh conducted practical demonstrations and hands-on sessions, introducing participants to nutritious, easy-to-prepare and locally adaptable recipes using locally available ingredients.

Principal SIHM Sachin Bali, and CDPO Leh Zarina Bano attended the programme and interacted with the participants.

The officers appreciated the initiative and stressed the importance of strengthening the skills of frontline workers responsible for preparing and providing nutritious meals to children at Anganwadi Centres.
