SRINAGAR, SEPT 26: Tightening the financial noose around drug traffickers and terror-linked networks, Srinagar Police has attached and frozen four immovable properties worth approximately ₹7.11 crore under the NDPS Act and UA(P) Act, striking at assets allegedly generated from or linked to illicit activities.
In the latest action, Police Station Zakura attached a residential house along with land at Bilal Colony, Zakura, valued at around ₹2.5 crore, belonging to Owais Ahmad Rather, son of Gh. Mohd Rather, in connection with FIR Number 34/2026 under Sections 8/22 and 29 NDPS Act.
The property was attached under Section 68-F(1) of the NDPS Act after being identified during investigation as allegedly connected with illicit drug trafficking.
The attachment bars its sale, lease, transfer, alteration or creation of any third-party interest until further orders of the competent authority.
Earlier, Police Station Nowgam attached property worth approximately ₹2.85 crore belonging to Sheeraz Ahmed Sheikh, son of Nazir Ahmad Sheikh, resident of Wagoora, BK Pora, in connection with FIR Number 121/2023 under Sections 8/15 NDPS Act.
The property comprises a two-storeyed concrete building, two shops and a rice mill constructed over 18 marlas of land at Wagoora, Tehsil BK Pora.
The action was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act following approval of the competent authority.
In another major action, Police Station Ahmadnagar attached a residential property valued at approximately ₹1.30 crore at Danihama, Hazratbal, belonging to Zahoor Ahmad Mir, son of Abdul Gani Mir, in connection with FIR Number 20/2026 under Section 7/25 Arms Act and Sections 13, 18, 18-B, 19, 20, 23, 38 and 39 UA(P) Act.
The property comprises a single-storeyed residential house with appurtenant land measuring 06 marlas.
It was attached under Section 25 of the UA(P) Act after prior approval of the competent authority and completion of the prescribed legal procedure in the presence of an Executive Magistrate 1st Class and independent witnesses.
Meanwhile, Police Station Shalteng froze a single-storeyed residential house along with 07 marlas of land at Check Mujgund, valued at approximately ₹46 lakh, belonging to Amir Ahmad Mir, son of Mohd Ashraf Mir, in connection with FIR Number 43/2023 under Sections 8/21 and 29 NDPS Act.
Police said investigation established that the property had allegedly been acquired from proceeds of illicit drug trafficking, following which it was frozen under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act.
With these actions, Srinagar Police has targeted property, proceeds and financial infrastructure allegedly connected with narcotics trafficking and terror-related activities, with four immovable properties collectively valued at approximately ₹7.11 crore brought under legal attachment or freezing proceedings.
The latest crackdown reflects Srinagar Police’s continued focus on following the money trail rather than limiting action to arrests and seizures, with investigations aimed at identifying, tracing and legally proceeding against assets allegedly generated through illicit activities.
Srinagar Police reiterated that lawful and sustained action against drug traffickers, terror networks, their associates and financial support structures will continue, with further action to follow as investigations establish additional links and assets.
