AWANTIPORA, SEPT 26: Police District Awantipora organised a documentary screening programme at District Police Lines (DPL) Awantipora under the Civic Action Programme (CAP) 2026–27 to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, popularly known as the “Iron Man of India.”
The documentary highlighted the life, early years, contributions and legacy of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, with particular focus on his pivotal role in the integration of princely states and his vision of a united and strong India.
It also highlighted his contribution to public service, administration and institution-building during the formative years of independent India.
The programme was attended by senior police officers, students and other participants.
The screening provided an opportunity for youth to learn about Patel’s life and ideals and draw inspiration from his emphasis on unity, integrity, discipline and public service. Refreshments were also served to the participants.
The initiative reflects Police District Awantipora’s continued focus on youth engagement, national integration and strengthening police-public relations through meaningful community-oriented programmes.
