GANDERBAL, SEPT 26: Chairperson of the Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State, Dr Syed Darakhshan Andrabi, today inaugurated reconstruction and upgradation projects at the Ziyarats of Hazrat Syed Jaffar Sahib (RA), Hazrat Syed Abdul Rehman Sahib (RA) and Syed Hajah Sahiba at Rayil Gund, Kangan, Ganderbal.
The projects are aimed at strengthening infrastructure and improving facilities for devotees and visitors at the three important religious and spiritual sites.
Waqf Board Members Syed Mohammad Hussain Haqqani and Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, along with Waqf Board officers Dr Bashir Ahmad Bhat, Ishtiyaq Mohiuddin, Executive Engineer Qazi Mushtaq, Er. Rehmat Ullah Bhat, Incharge Officer Shrines, Er. Ghulam-e-Murtaza Shah and Er. Amir Yaqoob, Assistant Engineers, besides Khursheed Ahmad Wani, Administrator of the Shrine, and other officials and representatives, were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Andrabi said the Waqf Board was committed to the preservation, reconstruction and systematic development of important religious and spiritual heritage sites across Jammu and Kashmir.
She said the upgradation of Ziyarat complexes was not merely an infrastructure initiative but also an effort to preserve the region’s rich spiritual heritage while providing better amenities to devotees.
She stressed that development works must maintain the sanctity, traditional character and spiritual significance of the religious sites.
Dr Andrabi also called for collective efforts to preserve the legacy of the Awliya-e-Kashmir and carry forward their message of spirituality, peace, compassion and human fraternity to future generations.
The accompanying Waqf Board officials briefed the Chairperson about the scope and components of the reconstruction and upgradation projects. Dr Andrabi directed the concerned officers to ensure quality execution and timely completion of the works.
The inauguration marks another step towards the systematic development and preservation of Waqf-managed religious and spiritual sites across Jammu and Kashmir.
