KATHUA, SEPT 26: A Volleyball Tournament featuring 32 teams was inaugurated at Gangu Chak.
The tournament was inaugurated by SP Operations Kathua Brijesh Sharma and SDM Hiranagar, in the presence of SHO Hiranagar, SHO Rajbagh and prominent citizens of the area.
Organised by the Volleyball Club Gangu Chak, the tournament is being held in memory of the police martyrs who attained martyrdom at Soffain, paying tribute to their supreme sacrifice, courage and unwavering dedication to the nation.
The organisers said the sporting event seeks to keep alive the memory and legacy of the martyrs while providing local youth a platform to showcase their talent and promote discipline, teamwork and sportsmanship.
The participation of 32 teams has added significant enthusiasm to the tournament, with local players and residents turning up to support the event.
Officials and prominent citizens appreciated the organisers for combining sports promotion with remembrance of the fallen personnel and encouraged young participants to pursue sports with dedication and discipline.
