JAMMU, SEPT 28: The Directorate of School Education Jammu has revised the timings of government and private recognised schools up to the Higher Secondary level across the Summer and Winter Zones of Jammu Division, with the new schedule coming into force from October 1, 2026.

As per Order No. 34-DSEJ of 2026, issued on September 26, schools falling under the Summer Zone shall function from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while schools in the Winter Zone will operate from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM.

The revised schedule has been issued in reference to earlier communications of the Directorate dated March 28 and April 22, 2026.

All government and private recognised institutions covered under the order have been directed to strictly observe the prescribed timings from October 1.

The Directorate has also made it clear that any deviation from the notified schedule will invite action against the concerned institution under the rules in vogue.

School authorities have accordingly been advised to ensure compliance with the revised timings without exception.
