BARAMULLA, SEPT 24: Police arrested eight tourist guides for allegedly accosting, harassing and obstructing tourists and passengers in the Tangmarg area.
The arrested individuals are being produced before the Judicial Magistrate for further legal proceedings.
Police said any form of harassment, intimidation or unnecessary approaching of tourists will not be tolerated and strict action will be taken against those found involved in such conduct.
The action is aimed at ensuring that tourists visiting Tangmarg and Gulmarg can travel and enjoy their stay without pressure, inconvenience or harassment.
Baramulla Police also urged tourists to report instances of harassment or overcharging immediately, stating that their safety, dignity and hassle-free movement remain a priority.
