SRINAGAR, SEPT 26: As part of its ongoing Vigilance Awareness Campaign, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) J&K has launched a special internship initiative to engage law students from reputed universities of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
Under the initiative, selected law students will work as interns and undergo a structured internship programme in various assigned government departments.
The programme aims to provide the young participants first-hand exposure to the functioning of government departments that play a critical role in public service delivery, while also enabling them to observe and assess the transparency being maintained in public dealings.
The interns were separately briefed by the Director, ACB, at Srinagar and Jammu regarding the objectives and methodology of the programme.
During the interaction, the Director explained the process to be followed during the internship, the responsibilities of the interns and the manner in which their observations regarding transparency and public service delivery are to be documented.
The initiative is intended to create greater awareness among the younger generation about ethical governance, transparency and accountability in public administration, besides providing them an opportunity to understand the institutional mechanisms involved in preventing corruption.
The ACB said the initiative would also help foster a culture of integrity and vigilance among young professionals and encourage greater public participation in promoting transparent and accountable governance.
