MANIPUR, SEPT 29: Lieutenant General Pratik Sharma, Army Commander Northern Command and Colonel of the Madras Regiment, visited units of the Madras Regiment deployed in Manipur and interacted with troops during his visit.
During the interaction, Lt Gen Sharma reviewed the operational environment and engaged with soldiers deployed in the region. He commended the troops for their exemplary professionalism and commitment towards maintaining peace and stability in the area.
The Army Commander appreciated the dedication displayed by personnel while carrying out their responsibilities under challenging operational conditions and acknowledged their contribution towards ensuring a peaceful environment in the region.
Addressing the troops, Lt Gen Sharma exhorted them to maintain the highest standards of professionalism, discipline and operational preparedness, while continuing to strive for excellence across all fields.
He also emphasised the importance of maintaining the core values and traditions associated with the Indian Army and the Madras Regiment, while remaining committed to the larger objective of service to the nation.
The visit provided an opportunity for the senior Army leadership to interact directly with personnel on the ground, acknowledge their efforts and reinforce the importance of continued dedication in the discharge of operational responsibilities.
