BARAMULLA, SEPT 23: Baramulla Police organised a drug awareness programme at New Child Care High School, Boniyar, sensitising students about the growing dangers of drug abuse and its potentially damaging impact on health, education, personal development and future prospects.
During the awareness session, students were briefed about the physical, psychological and social consequences of substance abuse, with emphasis on how addiction can affect concentration, academic performance, relationships and overall quality of life.
Police officials also highlighted the risks associated with peer pressure and experimentation, urging students to stay away from substances and seek support whenever they face pressure or challenges that could expose them to drug abuse.
Students were encouraged to channel their energy into healthy and constructive activities such as sports, regular exercise, meditation and other positive pursuits.
Emphasis was also laid on maintaining a safe, drug-free and skill-focused school environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
The programme also highlighted the importance of SDG-4 — Quality Education, stressing that a healthy and secure educational environment enables children to learn effectively, develop their potential and prepare for productive lives.
Students were urged to make responsible choices and carry the message “Say Yes to Life, No to Drugs” beyond the school premises by becoming ambassadors of a healthy and drug-free society.
Baramulla Police reiterated its commitment to expanding drug-awareness initiatives among young people and strengthening community participation in efforts to prevent drug abuse and protect the younger generation.
