RAJOURI, SEPT 29: Police have arrested two persons after recovering 1,300 intoxicant tablets during a checking operation in the town and seized the motorcycle allegedly being used by them.
A police party from Police Post City Rajouri intercepted a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number JK11E-6235 during checking.
During questioning, the rider was identified as Mohd Imran, son of Mohd Ashraf, resident near PG College, Kheora, while the pillion rider was identified as Mohd Zaheer, son of Abdul Mehmood, resident of Saimsmith, Rajouri.
A search of the two persons led to the recovery of 1,300 intoxicant tablets.
The recovered tablets were seized following due procedure, while both accused were taken into custody for further questioning.
The motorcycle used by the accused has also been seized as part of the investigation.
In connection with the recovery, FIR Number 511/2026 has been registered at Police Station Rajouri, and investigation has been initiated to establish the source of the suspected drug consignment, its intended destination and the possible involvement of other persons in the supply chain.
Investigators are also examining the financial and communication links of the accused to determine whether the recovered tablets were part of a larger distribution network.
