ANANTNAG, OCT 3: Stepping up enforcement against the illegal sale and misuse of medicines, Anantnag Police, in coordination with the Drug Control Department, conducted inspections of medical shops in the Janglatmandi area on Saturday.
The joint teams carried out detailed checks of medical establishments, scrutinising the availability, storage and sale of medicines besides verifying compliance with prescribed drug-control rules and regulatory requirements.
The inspections form part of an ongoing enforcement drive aimed at preventing the diversion, unauthorised distribution and misuse of medicines, while ensuring that pharmaceutical establishments operate strictly within the regulatory framework.
Officials also stressed the importance of maintaining proper records, adhering to prescribed storage and dispensing norms and preventing medicines from reaching unauthorised channels.
Anantnag Police reiterated that strict legal action will follow against individuals or establishments found involved in the illegal sale, distribution or misuse of medicines, reinforcing the administration’s focus on curbing practices that can pose risks to public health and safety.
