SAMBA, SEPT 28: Continuing its crackdown on illegal mining and transportation of construction material, Police seized nine vehicles, including six dumpers, across the district for allegedly being used in illegal mining and transportation activities.
Police teams led by the In-charges of Police Posts Mansar, Rakh Amb Talli and Goran of Police Station Samba, while conducting patrolling in their respective jurisdictions, intercepted and seized six dumpers bearing registration numbers JK08K-9445, JK14H-9086, JK19A-5402, JK02DK-4231, JK21K-9917 and JK21H-6006.
The operation also resulted in the seizure of two tractor-trolleys bearing registration numbers JK21H-9554 and JK02DD-6593, besides another tractor-trolley without a registration number.
According to police, the vehicles were being used for the illegal mining and transportation of construction material in the area.
All the seized vehicles have been handed over to the Geology and Mining Department, Samba, for further legal action under the relevant provisions.
